After the baptism

So after the baptism, we just spent time as a family. On Sunday, my father wasn't feeling good, so he and my mom spent the day at the hotel relaxing and watching tv. The rest of us went to the lake near our house to relax and enjoy some time in the sun. Tito had to leave early because he had to work, but we had a good time!

Loving his belly! :)

Someone was sleepy!

Augh! The cuteness! :)

We came back to the house and decided to grill..BIL and SIL made kielbasa, chicken and turkey burgers.

Had a delicious dinner and then relaxed.

Monday my parents came over - we stayed at the house and used the pool, while my parents relaxed before their flight.

With my parents - despite the terrified look on his face, this is a cute shot

I managed to get a decent sunburn, so headed back to the house early. We cooked and then dropped my parents off at the airport. When we got home, Tito and his parents, Agi and Dani wanted to go out. So they all went out and I had to stay home with Santi.

Next morning, everyone slept late except Tito, Santi and I. I'd been up with Santi since 6am, and I nursed him twice to get him back to sleep. Then we played in my room but after awhile I was going stir crazy, so we ended up going out to start breakfast, which woke up BIL and SIL who were sleeping in the livingroom. Oh well, it was 9am, so late for us! :) I made pancakes from scratch that were AWESOME and then we took some photos for BIL and SIL.

Santi mesmerized by his new toy from a friend - a talking/singing camera

Santi's new trick is raspberries - he does them all the time and loves it when he can mimick people. So we took quite a few videos of him blowing raspberries, but I had to share this photo of him!

:)

That night, FIL wanted to bring us to Chinese food before we brought SIL and BIL to the airport.

After dinner, we spent some time together, had some wine and just talked after Santi was in bed. BIL and SIL left for the airport at 10:30pm (their flight was at 12:50pm) and FIL and MIL went too, so I stayed behind and finally finished "Undress Me In the Temple of Heaven"...good!

Baptism!

So Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early to get ready for the baptism. Kept Santi in his pj's until the last possible moment. I did my hair, Tito headed to the store to get the cake and balloons we were using as a marker at the door of the reception. My brother showed up early so he actually went with him. Then, after everything else was over at the reception hall, we headed to the church.

Santi with his godparents - Dani and Agi

Yes, the hat looks like a cook's hat - it was just a little too small and just fit around his head. It was supposed to be a bit larger and sit on his head like those knit caps girls wear now...very cute in the photos, but his didn't turn out that way.

With my parents - this is before he started to melt down because he was SO hungry!

Being hungry and teething are no fun! And this begins the photos where we had 4 people taking photos, but none of them telling us when they were taking them, so we ended up with half the group looking at one camera and half the group looking at the other!

Haha, is it bad that this is my favorite photo? :)

Santi getting baptized - he slept through the WHOLE ceremony, and only wiggled a little bit when the water was poured on his head!

Santi with his cousin Mique - a.k.a. the Latino Justin Bieber!

Kind of not a great photo of us, but the only one we have!

Opening some gifts back at the house - my parents got him a pewter beer stein with his initials on it, which is sort of a traditional gift in our family - my parents actually brought mine out for me! They also got him a little pewter duck bank, so cute!

Agi helping Santi with a gift from our friend Natalia - a push and go toy. He won't use it for awhile but he loved sitting on it!

Inevitably, the Latin dancing started - although everyone but family had left!

Love the look on his face - "Put me down mom!"

Baptism week!

Whew! What a week! All of the family is gone except MIL who leaves on Saturday. Then it's just me, Tito, Santi and my FIL. :) Back to my new "normal" I guess! We had a great week despite a few bumps.

My parents came in Wednesday night at about 11pm. Tito and I went to get them, drove them back to the house and deposited them into our room for the night and he and I slept on the air mattress in the livingroom. Woke up early because Santi was fussy and he ended up falling asleep in the bed with us for a bit:

That morning, I went to get BIL and SIL at the airport while Tito went to work. Came back and they started cooking, while I went and ran some last minute errands which included paying the church for the baptism, and getting a couple of baptism gifts for Santi from Tito and I (kids wooden bead rosary, prayer card, and a ceramic wall hanging with a quote on it starting with "God danced the day you were born..." which made me cry, especially due to everything he went through in the beginning.) Came back and we ate causa - Peruvian dish of basically mashed potatoes and veggies and spices. Yummy.

Tito came home and we all hung out, and then had dinner, and then deposited my parents and MIL and FIL at the hotel for the weekend. MIL and FIL came back with us though as Tito, BIL, SIL and I were all going out and we needed a babysitter! Put Santi to bed and then we headed out at about 8pm. Ended up going to Seattle (Queen Anne), Chopstix, Peso's and then met Tito's cousin Mique (Micheangelo) as he was in town for the baptism as well.

Friday, we woke up, had some breakfast, then headed to Green Lake to hang out. This whole event was a little stressful because my parents hate being outdoors, and Tito's parents love it. So we just compromised and sat in the shade and had a picnic. My brother met us there as well. Turned out to be a good day, and we headed back at about 4:30 so that we could make dinner and I could finish up some things for the baptism, such as making brownie pops!

Making brownie pops - SO messy, but so yummy!

We had a late night hanging out after depositing the parents at the hotel for the night. BIL and SIL gave us gifts for Santi (baby bible, clothes and a couple other things) and we gave them a gift from Santi (a frame with his handprint on one side and a photo of him on the other) as a thank you for them being his godparents.

Up next, the baptism!
