Gaby's three month letter

4/28/12

Dear Gabriela:

You are now three months old!! You are still sleeping on your sleep wedge, and you are still taking your medication, but it seems to be working. You are holding up your head on your own and have sat in your Bebe Pod chair a bunch of times now. You like to sit in it on the table with us when we have dinner together.

You love to be held. If we aren’t holding you then we aren’t engaging with you, you think. So we keep you happy by holding you as much as we can. You don’t care if you’re facing us, you just like to be in our arms.

We haven’t been able to get you to take a bottle very easily, so it’s hard for Mommy to leave you for an extended amount of time. We’ve been working on getting a routine down with you and you’ll nap in the afternoons now when your brother is napping.

Here are some more things that you’re doing:

  • You have become a very happy baby. You love to smile and laugh at us, even though you don’t have any sound with your laughs yet!
  • You are a good napper, especially in the morning. You will sleep for a couple of hours when we’re out and about and about the same amount in the afternoon.
  • You’re very vocal and like to “talk” to us quite a bit.
  • You’re now wearing 0-3 month clothes consistently and some 3 month sized clothes.
  • Your little thighs have filled out and you have some great rolls on them!
  • You definitely recognize us when you see us and if someone else is holding you, you’ll smile instantly when you see us!
  • You sleep in your crib every night and most naps.
  • You’re sleeping about 7 hours when we first put you down and wake 1-2 times a night.
  • You are a water baby and love getting baths!

You have changed so much in such a short amount of time, but we also can’t believe it’s already been three months! You are such a fun, happy little girl and are really showing us your personality and we are excited to see what’s in store!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Pinterest Challenge Month 2

So I'm now onto month 2 of the Pinterest Challenge! Last month, I successfully completed one thing. However, since I didn't start the challenge until the very end of the month, I'm allowing myself to let the craft project slide into this month.

So my plans for this month are to complete one recipe and two craft projects. We're also hosting a garage sale this weekend, and will be earning some money from that which we plan on using to buy storage units for our garage, so there will be a garage makeover (with inspiration drawn from Pinterest) this month as well.

So for this month, I've chosen the following:

This painting, which is from last month. The tutorial is here.

These bins...ever since I saw this tutorial on Pinterest (37 weeks ago according to my pin board!) I've been saving diaper boxes. I've got about 9. We bought fabric bins from Target but they are made of thin cardboard and don't really hold up to a toddler leaning on them more than once. So I've had the idea to make these forever, and now is the time to do it!

For the recipe portion, I have chosen the following:

Dump chicken. One trip to Costco for chicken, a handful of plastic bags, ingredients from the fridge and cupboards, and 15 minutes....7 nights of dinners

Dump chicken! Apparently it's 7 meals from one Costco chicken bag. I thought this would be good, plus it'd give me a week's worth of meals to use and freeze. The tutorial is here.
